What changed, and when?
- Rebuilt for 2027 from the CMS landscape files (September 22 and 30, 2026), the 2026-to-2027 plan crosswalk (October 1), the 2027 plan benefit packages and the September 2026 enrollment reports. Each plan page now puts 2026 beside 2027 and says whether the plan renews, folds into another or ends; 764 plans of 2026 are not offered in 2027. New: county pages for 3,238 counties, one page per drug with the plans that cover it, analyses of giveback, $0-premium and ending plans, guides to open enrollment, and status pages for employer and union group contracts. The county finder takes a ZIP code as well as a county name (Census ZIP code areas), and drug pages with a Medicare negotiated price give the price CMS published for a 30-day supply. Old rankings, research and statistics pages now forward to the page that answers the same question.
- PlainMedicare launched with the 2026 Medicare Advantage plans and star ratings.
What comes next?
The 2027 Star Ratings, due from CMS in October 2026, replace the 2026 ratings on every plan, contract and county page once CMS publishes them; until then the pages say which year's ratings they show. Any CMS revision of the 2027 landscape or crosswalk files is loaded when it appears, and the 2027 drug formulary file replaces the 2026 one when CMS posts it. Each will be listed here with its date.
