Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

PlainMedicare protects your privacy as carefully as it presents plan quality data. Our analytics are handled by Umami, which was selected because it operates entirely without cookies and without collecting personal information. Site usage is captured only as aggregate totals.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

PlainMedicare does not set first-party cookies. However, third-party services used on this site may set cookies:

  • Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
  • Cloudflare may set security cookies (e.g., __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) uses cookies to measure website traffic and usage patterns.

Your browser's light/dark theme preference is stored in localStorage, which never leaves your device.

Advertising

We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google and its advertising partners may also use other cookies and web beacons for ad personalization and measurement.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info, or (in the EEA/UK) Your Online Choices.

Data Sources

All data displayed on this site comes from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). No private or proprietary data is used. No personally identifiable information from these datasets is stored or displayed.

Editorial Independence

Content on PlainMedicare is compiled by our editorial team: raw data from CMS is transformed into readable profiles by our continuous editorial pipeline, validated against the source before publication. The PlainMedicare editorial team is responsible for editorial standards and corrections.

We do not accept payment, sponsorship, or promoted placement from providers, hospitals, manufacturers, or any healthcare entity. Our only revenue source is contextual display advertising served by Google AdSense, advertisers do not influence which entities we cover or how we present data, and they do not receive preferential placement.

Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare - CDN, security, and hosting
  • Google AdSense - advertising
  • Google Analytics - traffic measurement
  • Umami - privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics

Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to know what data is collected about you, request deletion of your data, and opt out of personalized advertising. If you are in the EEA, you may be presented with a consent dialog for personalized advertising.

Children's Privacy

PlainMedicare does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
