Informational only — not professional advice

PlainMedicare is for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this site is medical, insurance, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for personalized Medicare counseling. Plan eligibility, enrollment periods, coverage rules, provider networks, drug formularies, and out-of-pocket costs depend on current federal regulations and your individual circumstances. For guidance on your specific situation, speak with a licensed Medicare counselor, your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), or a qualified insurance professional before enrolling.

Not affiliated with Medicare or CMS

PlainMedicare is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or any insurance company. We do not sell insurance, process enrollments, or determine eligibility. All plan and enrollment decisions are made through official Medicare channels and the insurers offering each plan.

Quality ratings, not a price quote

The figures on PlainMedicare describe plan quality — CMS Star Ratings, drug-plan ratings, plan type, and supplemental benefits — alongside the monthly premium from the CMS Landscape file. Premiums can vary by county and change each year, so they are a guide, not a quote. For current costs, use the official Medicare.gov Plan Compare tool. Remember that every enrollee also pays the standard Part B premium (about $185/month in 2026) on top of any plan premium.

Data reflects CMS release cycles

Figures reflect the most recent CMS source files we have processed, with the plan year shown on every data page. CMS Star Ratings are published once a year and reflect prior-year performance; a plan's rating, benefits, and network can change from one year to the next. Source data may contain errors or may not reflect the latest plan changes. Always confirm a plan's current rating, benefits, network, and cost directly at Medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE before you enroll.
